Spring is finally here. I personally love this time of year. I love seeing the early flowering buds and hearing the robins chirping in the morning. Spring is when we feel the need to clean up our houses and our closets and open the doors to the wonderful outdoors. That crisp clean smell from outside is better than any artificial air freshener and is frankly just awesome!
friends in the parkSpring is that time of year when we start to see our hibernating neighbours walking their dogs and cleaning the front yard. Babies born in January are finally visible without the padded winter garments. People are just smiley and friendlier when the weather is nice. During the depths of winter, it is harder to meet and and chat with your friends next door when you just want to get inside and be somewhere warm. Spring brings out our naturally social selves and it is the time for BBQ’s and casual get-togethers. Can’t you smell your neighbours steak cooking on the grill right now?
Shopping Locally is all about supporting and being part of your community. Our local businesses owners are an integral part of our neighbourhood and they are our friends. Check out the local florist for a spring floral arrangement, get a reading suggestion from your local book store and purchase a new pair of sandals from the local shoe store. Take the time to get to know your local butcher who can recommend the best cuts of meat for your weekend BBQ. Talk to the owner of your local garden centre for the best way to enhance your outdoors.
Our local business owners want us to enjoy this Spring season. Lets all get out there and shrug off those dreary winter blahs and get socially engaged in our community by shopping locally.
