Shop Locally For Gardening Supplies

Hello friends!

Today I want to talk about the joys of shopping locally for all your garden supply needs. Sure, you could order everything online and have it shipped to your doorstep, but where's the fun in that? Plus, shopping locally can lead to some hilarious and unexpected experiences.

My Indoor Garden

First of all, let's talk about the employees at your local garden center. These people are often full of surprises, and you never know what kind of wisdom they're going to impart. One time, I went to my local garden center and asked for some advice on how to keep my tomato plants from getting eaten by pests. The employee looked me straight in the eye and said, "Have you tried talking to the pests? Maybe they just need a friend." I couldn't help but laugh and appreciate their sense of humor.

But the real fun of shopping locally for garden supplies comes from the other customers you'll encounter. I once overheard a conversation between two gardeners arguing about the best way to deter rabbits from eating their vegetables. One swore by using human hair as a deterrent, while the other insisted that the only way to keep rabbits away was to blast polka music at them. I still chuckle to myself every time I think about that conversation.

And let's not forget about the strange and wacky items you'll find at your local garden center. Who knew there were so many different types of gnomes? From fishing gnomes to yoga gnomes, there seems to be a gnome for every occasion.

Just remember, when you're choosing where to shop for your gardening supplies this season, try to visit your local shops.

Cheers!
Katie

This is so true. I live in Waterloo and went to "Ontario Seed" on the weekend to get my seeds organized for the planting season. They were so helpful with helping me make great choices. I tried looking online for seeds and all the advice was from other parts of the world where they have different climates. It was just confusing, so I learned first-hand that you just have to appreciate the knowledge of your local shopkeepers.
