Top Ten Ways To Keep It Local This Fall

We just love Fall. Wearing cozy sweaters, walking through the leaves, pumpkin pie and hot chocolate.

Here is our top ten picks for keeping it local this Fall.

1. Visiting a local farmers market.

This is a favourite way to spend a Saturday morning in the Fall. Its fun and a great way to meet local farmers and buy locally grown veggies.

2. Walking in the park.

Going for walks in the Fall is a beautiful way to spend time. Have you heard of Nature Bathing? Well its a great way to bathe without getting wet. No dried out skin to contend with or damp hair. Check out one of your local parks or trails and enjoy.

3. Drinking coffee

Enjoying a coffee at a locally owned coffee shop is a super sweet way to enjoy the Fall. If its sunny, sit outdoors and watch the passing parade.

4. Visiting your local library.

We love our library and visit all year long but there's something about going in the Fall to pick out something new to snuggle on the couch and read.

5. Go to your favourite local book store.

Getting a brand new book is one of life's great treats. Local book stores will have readings and special events.

6. Check out a locally owned restaurant.

Try something new and non-chain. Our local restaurants add a uniqueness and vibrancy to the community. Support them over the big brands.

7. Entertain at home

Make a big batch of chili and have your friends over to play games. Use the fresh local veggies you bought at the market.

8. Visit a local art gallery.

Support the amazing local artists in your community. Maybe you'll even find something great to hang on your wall.

9. Take up a new hobby

Check out lessons for something you've always wanted to try. Maybe you would like to knit, paint, sculpt or make pickles. Its a way to learn a new skill and make friends.

10. Get some exercise

Find a local group and sign up. Go hiking, bird watching, running or curling. The options are endless and you will be so glad you did.

We are fans of all things local!

Cheers!
